Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is expected to leave Villarreal at the end of the current season after reports emerged that he is not part of head coach Marcelino’s long-term plans.

Partey joined the Spanish side on a two-year contract following the expiration of his deal with Arsenal. However, the 32-year-old has found it difficult to secure a regular place in the team since his arrival.

The Black Stars midfielder has featured in 18 matches across all competitions for the Yellow Submarine, accumulating a total of 943 minutes of playing time.

According to Transferfeed, Villarreal manager Marcelino has already informed the club’s management that Partey will not be offered a contract extension. This decision is expected to see the former Atlético Madrid and Arsenal midfielder leave the club when his deal expires on June 30, 2026.

Partey’s current market value is estimated at €5 million, based on figures from Transfermarkt.
