The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has announced plans to prosecute employers who fail to remit employee contributions after making deductions.
Management disclosed this at a regional forum in the Central Region, warning that a nationwide compliance enforcement exercise will soon begin.
Director-General of SSNIT, Kwesi Afreh Biney, urged defaulting employers to settle their outstanding payments immediately to avoid legal action.
He revealed that the Trust has engaged the Ghana Employers Association in a series of meetings aimed at improving compliance among employers.
Mr. Biney also commended the Finance Minister for settling SSNIT contributions for 2025, adding that the Trust’s investments are performing strongly.
