The family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, has convened at the Information Services Department (ISD) in Accra to brief the media on preparations for her final funeral rites.
The briefing is expected to provide details on the official programme, venues, dates, and all activities planned to honour the memory of the late stateswoman.
Nana Konadu, who passed away on 23 October 2025, will be accorded a state funeral, as announced by President John Dramani Mahama. The funeral is scheduled for Friday, 28 November 2025, at Independence Square in Accra.
The former First Lady, founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP) and Ghana’s First Lady from 1981 to 2001, was widely recognised as a fearless advocate for women’s rights and a pivotal figure in shaping Ghana’s contemporary political landscape. Her passing prompted an outpouring of tributes from political leaders, civil society groups, and citizens nationwide.
The Rawlings family is expected to use the ISD briefing to clarify all funeral arrangements and provide guidance to the public on how they can participate in the ceremonies.
