Emma Raducanu earned her first victory of the 2026 season, defeating Camila Osorio in straight sets at the Hobart International after their match was suspended due to rain.

The British 23-year-old had taken the first set but fell behind 4-2 in the second when play was halted on Tuesday. Returning to the court on Wednesday, Raducanu recovered from the break deficit to secure a 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) triumph, celebrating her comeback with a roar of delight.

Top seed Raducanu avoided the prospect of playing two matches in one day after her second-round opponent, Magdalena Frech, withdrew with an injury. She now faces Australian wildcard Taylah Preston in the quarter-finals on Thursday as she continues her preparations for the Australian Open.

“Very, very difficult match. We played under all conditions and coming on and off a few times was really difficult,” Raducanu said. “I don’t think I’ve experienced many matches interrupted like this before. Camila played an incredible match, but I’m really pleased with how I came back and turned it around.”
