The Ghana Police Service held an assurance parade in Akwatia on Sunday, August 31, 2025, ahead of the upcoming by-election scheduled for Tuesday, September 2.
The parade formed part of broader security measures aimed at reassuring residents, political parties, and stakeholders of the police’s preparedness to maintain peace and order before, during, and after the polls.
An assurance parade is a standard security operation conducted ahead of major elections to display police readiness, deter potential disruptions, and instill public confidence in the electoral process.
During the event, the police also used the opportunity to remind voters of the need to adhere to electoral laws and conduct themselves peacefully on election day.
The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a free, fair, and violence-free by-election and called on the public and political actors to cooperate fully with security personnel for a smooth and credible process.
