One Dead in Head-On Crash at Adansi Akrokerri Junction

One person has been confirmed dead after a fatal head-on collision at the Adansi Akrokerri Junction on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

The crash, reported by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), involved a Hyundai minivan (AS 8655-20) and a Hyundai truck (AS 3948-24). According to preliminary information, the minivan driver attempted to overtake another vehicle but veered into the path of the oncoming truck, resulting in a violent impact that killed him instantly.

A rescue team from the Fomena Fire Station, led by LFM Boateng, responded quickly and managed to extricate the deceased from the wreckage. The body was later handed over to the police for further investigations.

Two occupants of the truck sustained severe injuries and were transported to the hospital for emergency treatment before firefighters arrived. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage, and the truck was forced off the road into a nearby ditch.

In response to the incident, the GNFS has reiterated its warning to motorists to refrain from dangerous overtaking and to comply with road safety regulations to prevent avoidable tragedies.

The Ashanti Regional Public Relations Office has officially recorded the case.
