A 42-year-old man, identified as Bismark Yaw Sarfo Danso, has been murdered during a suspected robbery at his home in the Asonkore SSNIT area of Obuasi.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, December 13, between 1:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., when three armed men allegedly broke into the house while the family was asleep. According to the deceased’s wife, Comfort Mensah, the attackers forcefully entered the residence, assaulted her husband, and escaped with cash, a laptop, and other personal items.
As investigations continue, the Obuasi Police Command has arrested the deceased’s younger brother to assist in establishing the circumstances surrounding the killing. The body of the victim has been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy, while police intensify efforts to track down the remaining suspects involved in the attack.
The killing has sparked fear and concern among residents of the Asonkore SSNIT community, with many calling for increased police patrols and enhanced security measures. Police have appealed to the public to provide any information that could aid in identifying and arresting those responsible for the crime.
