Massive Fire Guts Shops and Workshops at Sofoline Magazine

A devastating fire has destroyed hundreds of shops and mechanic workshops at Sofoline Magazine in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The fire reportedly broke out around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, rapidly engulfing several structures, including mechanic workshops and vehicles undergoing repairs. Large quantities of spare parts, equipment, and other goods were also destroyed in the blaze.

Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service were promptly dispatched to the scene and managed to bring the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties.

Although no casualties were recorded, the inferno has left many shop owners and mechanics counting their losses.

Investigations have since been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
