Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is reportedly set to reject a new contract offer from the club, following the collapse of a £35 million move to Liverpool. The 25-year-old England international is said to be frustrated by the club’s refusal to sanction the transfer.

According to The Guardian, Palace manager Oliver Glasner threatened to resign if Guehi was sold, effectively blocking the deal. The club reportedly would have accepted a bid in the region of £55 million, a figure Liverpool did not meet. Now, The Telegraph reports that Real Madrid may rival Liverpool in the race to sign Guehi on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.

Guehi is currently in the final year of his deal and has no intention of signing an extension, according to The Times.
