Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician and songwriter Yaw Sarpong has died, his family and close sources have confirmed.
Sarpong, a celebrated figure in Ghana’s gospel music scene and the founder of the iconic Yaw Sarpong & Asomafo band, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Emena Hospital in Kumasi, where he had been receiving medical care.
