Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has appealed to party delegates to entrust him with the mandate to lead the party into the 2028 general elections, promising that his leadership will restore public trust and renew national confidence in the NPP.

Addressing delegates from Ejisu, Juaben, and Effiduase at Juaben in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, as part of the Phase Two of his Ashanti Regional Tour, Ing. Agyepong said the NPP needs a leader who embodies integrity, humility, and unity to heal the party and reconnect it to Ghanaians.

“If you send me, Ghanaians will forgive the NPP. Because of me, they will believe in us again and vote for us in 2028,” he declared, receiving loud applause from the delegates.
Recounting his long service and loyalty to the NPP, Ing. Agyepong reminded the delegates that he had sacrificed his youth for the party, joining the frontlines of political activism as early as 1992, when he worked under Professor Adu Boahen. He later supported Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 1998 primaries, traveling to more than 230 constituencies, and eventually served former President John Agyekum Kufuor faithfully as his Press Secretary after the 2000 elections.

“When President Kufuor won, he brought me close and taught me humility, tolerance, and unity. That is what leadership is about — bringing people together for a common purpose,” he said.
Ing. Kwabena Agyepong expressed worry about the growing factionalism and apathy within the party, which he said has eroded the unity and commitment that once defined the NPP’s foundation. He emphasized that the party must return to its roots by restoring discipline, respect, and teamwork.

“The NPP was built on unity, but what we see today is division and ‘mafiarism.’ We must stop this culture and rebuild the party for the future,” he stressed.
He described himself as principled and disciplined, qualities he believes the NPP needs in its next leader.
“If you want someone who can sell the party to Ghanaians again, it is me. I am not just talking about service — I have lived it. I served President Kufuor with integrity, and there was never a stain of corruption on my name,” he asserted.
Ing. Kwabena Agyepong urged the delegates of Ejisu, Juaben, and Effiduase to remember his message on January 31, 2026, the day of the NPP presidential primaries.

“I have remembered you by coming here. On that day, remember me with your votes,” he appealed.
The former General Secretary, known for his message of “Leadership with Integrity — Going Back to Our Roots,” continues to win admiration among party faithful for his humility, credibility, and deep sense of loyalty to the NPP’s ideals.
