Nana Kwasi Boatey, Managing Director of Ghana Publishing Company, has highlighted the company’s remarkable financial recovery following a period of near-collapse.

He revealed that when the current administration took over in February 2025, the company’s liquidity was critically low, with a bank balance of just GH¢400,000. The situation was so dire that management had to rely on a bank overdraft to pay staff salaries in January 2025.

Under his leadership, the company has since deposited GH¢15 million into a fixed account, implemented a 24-hour shift system to boost productivity, realigned staff roles, and approved a 40% salary increase, in addition to paying a 13th-month salary in December 2025.

Mr. Boatey also noted that the company has begun renovating its facilities and establishing a digital press, signaling that Ghana Publishing Company has moved from financial distress to a “very sound” position as a state-owned enterprise.
