Ghana’s First Lady, Her Excellency Mrs. Lordina Mahama, is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the 7th Annual Prayer Service for Children, held alongside the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
The event, organised by World Vision International in collaboration with other global faith-based and humanitarian organisations, will take place on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM (ET) at the Church Center for the United Nations, Tillman Chapel.
This year’s gathering is themed “A Moment of Hope”, focusing on six pillars of hope: compassion, resilience, purpose, joy, wisdom, and spiritual life. The aim is to encourage global leaders to reflect and take meaningful action on behalf of the world’s most vulnerable children, particularly during times of global crisis.
Mrs. Mahama’s participation underscores her longstanding commitment to child welfare, both in Ghana and internationally. Her advocacy for improved access to healthcare, education, and social protection for children has earned her widespread recognition.
Other distinguished speakers at the event include Rev. Andrew J. Morley, President and CEO of World Vision International, and Mrs. Cindy McCain, Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme.
The annual prayer service gathers world leaders, religious figures, and humanitarian organisations to unite in prayer and renew a collective call to protect and uplift children across the globe.
