A fire engulfed Anwona Market near Afful Nkwanta in Kumasi on Monday evening, causing significant damage to shops and property.
The incident comes less than 24 hours after a similar blaze destroyed a cluster of mechanic shops at Sofoline, raising concerns about fire safety in the metropolis.
Eyewitnesses reported that the Anwona Market fire broke out around 10 p.m., originating in the section of a footwear factory where flammable materials are stored.
The Ghana National Fire Service quickly deployed personnel to the scene to contain the flames and prevent further destruction.
