EOCO Arrests LPG Leader Kofi Akpaloo

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reportedly arrested Kofi Akpaloo, leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), at his residence in Kumasi.

According to sources, the early morning operation was carried out by EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU), based at the agency’s headquarters in Accra, in collaboration with its Ashanti Regional Office.

The arrest was executed without any resistance, insiders say.

While the exact reasons for Akpaloo’s arrest have not been disclosed, he is currently being transported to Accra to assist EOCO investigators with ongoing investigations.

EOCO has yet to issue an official statement regarding the development.
