The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting as part of preparations for the upcoming Ayawaso East by-election.

In a notice sent on February 6, 2026, to the General Secretaries of all registered political parties, the Commission stated that the meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at its corporate headquarters in Accra.

The EC indicated that discussions will focus solely on the organisation and conduct of the Ayawaso East by-election. Political parties have been asked to limit their delegation to two representatives each.

The notice was signed by Dr. Bossman Eric Asare, Deputy Chairperson of the Commission responsible for Corporate Services, acting on behalf of the EC Chairperson.

Interest in the by-election has intensified in recent days, particularly due to developments within the National Democratic Congress, including allegations of vote-buying during its internal parliamentary primary.
