Dr. Razak Kojo Opoku of the UP Tradition Institute has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to realign with its proven winning strategies as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections. According to him, the NPP needs a business-minded leader with a demonstrated track record in job and wealth creation to lead the party into the next political cycle.

He emphasized the importance of selecting a flagbearer who not only understands the grassroots but can also gain the trust of the broader electorate, including the business community and the elite.

Dr. Opoku urged party delegates to seriously consider individuals such as Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, and Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum as potential flagbearers, citing their capabilities and contributions.

Responding to criticisms, the Chartered Marketer and Lecturer dismissed claims that he had attacked any particular candidate. He clarified that his comments were based on factual analysis and not intended as personal attacks.

Dr. Opoku expressed concern that some individuals tend to interpret data and figures as insults, arguing that such reactions are detrimental to constructive political discourse.

He reiterated that, given the current challenges facing the NPP, serious consideration should be given to the three individuals mentioned, as they represent the kind of leadership needed to move the party forward.
