Speaking on his “Ability to See” series on AP Radio 105.7 in Kaase-Kumasi, Dr. Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim has cautioned Christians against submitting their marriages to ungodly customs and demonic rituals. He emphasized that many traditional practices surrounding marriage contradict Christian principles and can have serious spiritual consequences.

Dr. Ephraim outlined three key steps that should occur in the family home before a marriage is blessed:

  1. Acceptance of the groom and his family,
  2. Payment of the bride price, and
  3. Counsel and advice to the couple.

He explained that marriage is a covenant created by God, and as such, it must be handled in accordance with His Word—not cultural practices that are rooted in ancestral worship or demonic influence.

“Demons hate godly marriage,” Dr. Ephraim stated. “They seek to curse, divide, and destroy what God intends to bless.”

He strongly warned against libation pouring and ancestral rituals, saying that such acts open spiritual doors to barrenness, chronic illness, premature death, ongoing conflict, and a lack of peace in the marriage.

“If your family pours libation and invokes ancestral spirits over your marriage, and then you try to dedicate that same marriage to God, it’s already defiled. That is a demonic covenant, not a godly one,” he warned.

Dr. Ephraim stressed that true Christian marriages must be dedicated to God alone, and carried out according to biblical principles, not traditional rites that contradict Scripture.

“Only marriages done God’s way receive His blessings. Worldly or demonic unions may look good on the outside but lead to spiritual curses and eternal separation from God,” he concluded.

The teaching forms part of Dr. Ephraim’s broader ministry to awaken spiritual discernment among believers and encourage a return to sound biblical foundations in all areas of life, especially marriage.
