On AP Radio 105.7, Dr. Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim, speaking in his “Ability to See” series, cautioned Christians against maintaining ties with extended families that uphold practices contrary to biblical teachings.
Quoting Matthew 10:36, he said, “A man’s enemies will be members of his own household,” emphasizing that some family traditions—such as pouring libation, invoking ancestral spirits, and observing customs rooted in idol worship—conflict with the word of God.
“You cannot serve God while remaining loyal to practices born out of idol worship,” Dr. Ephraim said, adding that many of these traditions were established by people who did not know God.
He urged believers to separate themselves from ungodly family customs and embrace what he called “God’s true family—the Church.” Citing 2 Corinthians 6:17–18, he encouraged Christians to live in obedience and purity, serving only the Creator.
“You cannot serve two masters,” he reminded, quoting Matthew 6:24. “You must choose one—either the gods of your ancestors or the God of creation. Mixing the two is confusion, and God rejects it.”
