Delta Paper Ltd., producers of Flora Tissues and Baby Diapers, has reaffirmed its commitment to maternal dignity and community development by playing a key role in the successful celebration of Queenmothers Day 2025 during this year’s Oguaa Fetu Afahye festival in Cape Coast.
The event, organized by the Obaapa Development Foundation (ODF), paid tribute to the pivotal role of traditional leadership, with special recognition for the Ghana National Union of Queenmothers (Gh-UNIQ).
It was held under the distinguished patronage of the Paramount Queenmother of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Nana Ekua Abookyi VI, and brought together queenmothers, traditional leaders, health experts, youth advocates, and development partners from across the country.

Delta Paper Ltd. donated over 500 essential items, including various Flora tissue products and baby diapers, to support mothers and queenmothers in attendance. According to ODF Executive Director, NanaHemaa Awindor, the gesture was more than corporate sponsorship—it was an affirmation of the dignity and value of every mother and queenmother present.
“Delta Paper Ltd. did not just sponsor an event; they affirmed the value of every Queenmother and mother present,” NanaHemaa stated. “Their partnership reflects a shared commitment to cultural heritage, maternal dignity and sustainable development.”
The celebration featured vibrant cultural performances, a well-organized cooking competition facilitated by Promasidor Ghana (producers of Onga and Twisco), and advocacy sessions from Ghana Health Services, World Child Cancer Ghana, and other partners.

In her youth mentorship dialogue, delivered on behalf of Obaapa Development Foundation, NanaHemaa emphasized the critical role traditional leaders play in addressing social issues such as teenage pregnancy, child marriage, and menstrual hygiene.
Queenmothers Day also saw strong media presence and support, with Oyerepa TV from Kumasi and several local networks helping to amplify the message of empowerment, advocacy, and cultural pride. The branding of Onga and Delta Paper Ltd. was prominently displayed throughout the venue, highlighting their roles as socially responsible institutions deeply engaged in community upliftment.

Obaapa Development Foundation expressed its gratitude to Delta Paper Ltd. and Promasidor Ghana for their continued support and looks forward to further collaboration in upcoming initiatives, including Women & Children’s Day and regional wellness campaigns in the Volta Region during Asogli Te Za.
