The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, has identified corruption as a key barrier to Ghana’s progress, urging leaders at all levels to embrace honesty and integrity.
Speaking at the 2025 Asogli Yam Festival on Sunday, October 5, Togbe Afede emphasized that national development cannot thrive without a firm commitment to truthfulness.
“Corruption has been a stumbling block to our development, and it stems from our failure to remain on the path of truth and the highest standards of honesty,” he said.
He called on both political and traditional leaders to lead by example, stressing that truth, unity, and peace are essential foundations for building a just and prosperous nation.
“That is why the theme for today’s durbar focuses on honesty, unity, peace, and prosperity. Together in unity and prosperity, we build a just, peaceful, prosperous nation,” he added.
