Dr. Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim has challenged the long-held belief among some Africans that Christianity is a “white man’s religion,” describing it as a deception passed down by forefathers.
According to him, what is often called African religion is deeply mixed with rituals and practices tied to evil spirits that presented themselves as gods in rivers and objects, and that this belief system kept people away from the true knowledge of God the Creator.
He explained that many ancestors maintained loyalty to these spirits and deliberately influenced future generations to reject the message brought by missionaries.
He further added that, portraying Christianity as foreign was a strategy used to preserve allegiance to these spirits, leading generations to turn away from God and continue in spiritual deception.
