Christian leaders across the United States are mourning the tragic death of Charlie Kirk, a prominent evangelical Christian and conservative voice, who was assassinated Wednesday evening in front of a crowd of 3,000 attendees.

The shooting occurred during an event at Utah Valley University, sending shockwaves through faith communities and the broader public. Kirk, a vocal advocate for Christian values and the founder of Turning Point USA, was known for his unflinching defense of faith, liberty, and traditional values.

At Dream City Church in Phoenix, Arizona, where Kirk was a longtime member, Pastor Luke Barnett addressed the congregation during the church’s Wednesday night service, offering a heartfelt tribute to Kirk’s faith and legacy.

“Charlie loved the Lord, and he had a personal walk with Jesus,” Barnett said. “He lived his faith unashamedly. He was a good man, a moral man—and today, a good man died. This is a turning point in America.”

National Faith Leaders Respond

In the hours following the tragedy, influential pastors and Christian leaders across the country released statements honoring Kirk’s life and lamenting his death.

“Charlie Kirk is a martyr, and Charlie Kirk is with the Lord,” said Pastor Jack Graham. “To live is Christ and to die is gain. His voice and witness of Truth will not be silenced, but will inspire courage in a generation of young men and women who will continue to boldly proclaim the message of Life and Hope. Jesus is Lord.”

Pastor Jack Hibbs also offered his condolences and praise for Kirk’s character:

“I cannot express how incredibly proud I have been of his faithful Christian witness and the way he honored the Lord Jesus Christ with his life. Charlie was known as an intellectual giant, a very compassionate young man, and someone tirelessly devoted to this nation’s welfare and our glorious republic.”

As investigations into the assassination continue, many Christian leaders are urging believers to remain steadfast in prayer and to honor Kirk’s legacy by continuing to boldly live out their faith.
