The Police Intelligence Department of the Central East Regional Command has rescued 46 human trafficking victims, including a three-year-old child, from Green Estate, a suburb of Buduburam in the Gomoa East District.

The victims, reportedly from neighbouring Francophone countries, were allegedly lured by traffickers with promises of better opportunities abroad. They were later confined in a house and denied access to phones, food, and basic necessities.

One suspect has been arrested following the intelligence-led operation, which was launched after a relative of one of the victims filed a complaint.
