NPP presidential aspirant Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has concluded an extensive tour of all 276 constituencies across Ghana as the party gears up for its presidential primaries on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Launched on October 15, 2025, in Sene East under the banner “Our Journey Together”, the nationwide campaign comes less than a year after the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 general elections, which ended the party’s eight-year rule.

The tour was part of the party’s early reorganisation strategy, prioritised by the National Council to select a presidential flagbearer and strengthen grassroots support.

Dr. Bawumia’s team explained that the tour sought to engage directly with party members at the constituency level, gather feedback, and outline a forward-looking plan following the electoral setback.

During interactions with local executives, polling station officers, electoral area coordinators, and activists, the Vice President emphasised party unity, collective responsibility, and improved organisation as key to revitalising the NPP ahead of future elections.

He also highlighted his political experience and achievements in office, referencing initiatives such as the Ghana Card, Mobile Money Interoperability, and the Zipline medical drone programme.

Dr. Bawumia urged supporters to focus on policy, experience, and party cohesion rather than internal divisions. Members across the Ashanti, Greater Accra, Eastern, Western, Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, Northern, and Oti regions publicly endorsed his candidacy.

Concluding the tour in the Ashanti Region, he thanked party members for their participation and called on delegates to maintain peace during the primaries. He pledged that efforts would be made to unify the party after the internal election and to concentrate on preparations for the 2028 general elections.
