President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is set to deliver his final State of the Nation Address on Friday, January 3, 2025, ahead of the dissolution of the 8th Parliament.

In line with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, the President will offer his final report on the state of the nation, reflecting on key national issues and his administration’s achievements before stepping down from office.

The 8th Parliament is due to officially dissolve on Monday, January 6, 2025, marking the conclusion of the current legislative term. On the same night, the 9th Parliament will be inaugurated, with the election of a new Speaker and two Deputy Speakers set to take place at 11:00 PM.

Newly elected Members of Parliament will also take their oaths at midnight, signifying the beginning of the new legislative session.

The event will mark a significant moment in Ghana’s political calendar, as the country transitions from one parliamentary session to another.
