The Ashanti Regional Police Service has arrested five suspected armed robbers in connection with a series of criminal activities across the region, including a robbery and murder case at Asokore Mampong.
The fatal incident occurred on December 6, 2025, at about 5:00 p.m., claiming the life of Silvia Ngozi.
Two key suspects, Farouk Iddrisu, 20, a motor mechanic and rider, and Sadiq Mohammed, 19, a Pragia rider, were arrested on December 12, 2025, at their hideout in Aboabo.

In separate operations, police also apprehended three additional suspects—Abdul Fatau, 22; Philip Nyarko, 24; and Smack Haddy, 21—in connection with armed robbery cases reported at KNUST, Kenyase, Antoa Bosore, and Maayanka.
A significant number of stolen items were retrieved from the suspects, including 59 iPhones, six Android phones, four tablets, five laptops, as well as a knife and a cutlass.
Addressing the media, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur, commended officers for their persistence and professionalism in tracking down the suspects.
He reaffirmed the police service’s commitment to ensuring that those responsible for such crimes face the full rigour of the law and appealed to the public to continue cooperating with the police to help curb crime and deliver justice to victims and their families.
The suspects remain in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations.
