Ghanaian actor Yaw Dabo has publicly called on Black Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo to return a Jude Bellingham jersey he says was meant for him after Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup clash with England.
Dabo, who also owns the Dabo Soccer Academy, said he had asked members of the Ghana team to help him secure Bellingham’s shirt after the match in Boston.
According to the actor, Bellingham had agreed to give him his jersey after he made his request through the players and officials. Dabo said he also approached England and Chelsea legend John Terry during the game and asked him to let Bellingham know he was at the stadium.
After the match, Dabo said he spoke to Sibo, who was then playing for Real Oviedo, and asked him to collect the shirt from Bellingham on his behalf.
However, the actor claims the jersey never got to him. His suspicions grew after he later saw Sibo wearing the same shirt on social media.
“I told the players to inform Jude Bellingham of my presence. In fact, I saw Sibo wearing Bellingham’s jersey. Bring back my jersey. I insist,” Dabo said.
He explained that Sibo was a close friend and had agreed to remind Bellingham about his promise to give him the jersey.
“Sibo is my good friend. I told him to remind Bellingham of his promise to gift me his jersey. Just collect it for me. He told me he had seen Bellingham; that was before they went into their changing rooms,” he said.
Dabo maintained that several members of the Black Stars could confirm his account, saying he had made the request known to many players and officials before the shirt was allegedly collected.
“The Black Stars players and officials can confirm my side of the story. I told most of them to let Bellingham know of my presence and that they should collect the jersey for me,” he added.
He then accused Sibo of keeping the shirt for himself.
“Apparently, he took the jersey and kept it for himself,” Dabo said.
Dabo and Bellingham have maintained a friendship since they first met in Germany when the England midfielder was playing for Borussia Dortmund.
Meanwhile, Sibo is expected to make a move during the summer transfer window following his impressive showing at the World Cup in North America.
