Political analyst Isaac Tuffour has defended the government’s handling of the case involving former Microfinance and Small Loans Centre CEO, Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, arguing that it demonstrates the National Democratic Congress’ commitment to accountability and the fight against corruption.

Speaking on Oyerepa Radio, Dr Tuffour said efforts to bring the former MASLOC boss back to Ghana to face the consequences of her actions reflect the party’s stance against corruption.

“The NDC strongly opposes corruption and will never engage in any corrupt activities, which is why we have done everything possible to bring Sedinam back to face justice,” he stated.

According to him, public officials must be held accountable whenever questions arise about their management of public resources, regardless of their political affiliation.

“She has to be accountable for her actions, and the NDC is making sure of that,” he said.

Dr Tuffour further argued that the NDC has a history of investigating and sanctioning members of the party when allegations of wrongdoing emerge.

“We even have a history of the NDC investigating its own members after misconduct,” he asserted.

He maintained that the party’s willingness to scrutinise its own officials demonstrates its commitment to transparency and accountability.

“The NDC is the only government that has consistently shown the willingness to investigate its own people when issues of misconduct arise,” he claimed.
