Fuel prices in Ghana are expected to increase significantly from March 16, 2026, according to a pricing outlook by the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies.

The report indicates that petrol could rise by 16.93%, pushing the price to about GH¢14.32 per litre, while diesel is projected to increase by 17.21%, reaching roughly GH¢16.10 per litre. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is also expected to go up by 11.26%.

Industry analysts say the increase is largely driven by rising global crude oil prices linked to tensions in the Middle East and disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil transit route.

Meanwhile, the National Petroleum Authority has announced new minimum price floors for the second pricing window of March.

Under the new benchmarks, petrol cannot be sold below GH¢11.57 per litre, while diesel cannot go below GH¢14.35 per litre.

Market observers are now watching major fuel retailers such as GOIL and Star Oil to see how they will adjust their pump prices in the coming days.
