One person has died in a road traffic accident at Anyaa Market in the Greater Accra Region, despite a rapid emergency response by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
According to the GNFS, the Anyaa Fire Station received a distress call at 9:44 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, and arrived at the scene within five minutes. The accident occurred near the traffic lights along the Anyaa Market stretch and involved a rear-end collision between a motorcycle and a Man diesel truck.
The crash resulted in partial damage to the motorcycle and the front section of the truck. A male, believed to be the motorcycle rider, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was later handed over to the Police for further investigations and necessary procedures.
Fire Service personnel secured the accident site to prevent further incidents and worked closely with the Police and the Ambulance Service to manage the situation.
Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing. The information was contained in an update issued on Wednesday, January 14, by the Greater Accra Regional Public Relations Officer of the GNFS.
