The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has conducted a search at the Trassaco residence of Nana Yaw Duodu, popularly known as Dr. Sledge, and at the East Legon offices of Goldridge Company Limited, as part of its ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) gold trade programme.
The operation, carried out under High Court warrants, forms part of a probe into suspected corruption and corruption-related offences that reportedly caused a financial loss of about US$94 million to the State.
During the searches, the OSP’s Asset Recovery and Management Team seized luxury vehicles, jewellery, firearms, and documents related to real estate holdings believed to be connected to the case.
In September 2025, Dr. Sledge was detained by the OSP after allegedly failing to meet bail conditions.
Investigators suspect that the US$94 million loss stemmed from Goldridge Refinery’s failure to settle trade obligations under the government’s Gold for Forex and Gold for Oil initiatives.
