A young man, Kwadwo Bright, aged 20, has been allegedly stabbed to death following a dispute over a plastic chair in Ashanti New Town, part of the Manhyia South constituency in the Ashanti Region.
The tragic incident occurred on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at a local snooker game centre, where a disagreement reportedly broke out between Kwadwo and the suspect.
According to the victim’s mother, Georgina Yeboah, the argument appeared to have been resolved initially. However, the suspect allegedly returned later and stabbed Kwadwo in the neck.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the situation escalated rapidly, leading to loud shouts that drew the attention of bystanders. Kwadwo’s mother, upon hearing the commotion, rushed to the scene and found her son in critical condition.
He was quickly transported to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, but was sadly pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspect is currently on the run, and police have launched an active investigation. A manhunt is underway to apprehend the individual responsible.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to assist in bringing the suspect to justice.
